About the Position

This individual is responsible for all collections activity for the practice, including hiring, training and supervising the medical collections team. AR includes practice, imaging, infusion, orals and radiation claims.   Collections Supervisor collaborates with the billing and contracting departments to aid in timely claim resolutions.  Requires a strong commitment to the mission of the practice.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Supervise Collectors and make sure Accounts are being resolved
  • Works closely with the revenue cycle manager and the contracting department
  • Analyzes and identifies trends of payers and denials
  • Provides feedback to front revenue cycle managers, clinicians and billers to improve overall profit margins.
  • Uses payer portals to manage claims activity
  • Keeps up to date with payer and billing changes.
  • Hands on supervisor with direct responsibility for accounts.
  • Interviewing, hiring and training new employees for department
  • Train employees on Centricity, Availity, EMR system and all processes of a billing and collections for oncology
  • Handle escalated calls with patients, employers, practices and carriers
  • Work cohesively with other supervisors in the department to keep the system up to date with all billing/coding and financial compliance
  • Handle RAC audits for the practice.
  • Collections after unsuccessful attempts of employees
  • Maintain employees PTO requests, tardiness and absences
  • Present monthly AR to management
  • Approves refunds
  • Prefer CPC or 5+ years in collection experience
  • Diagnosis coding ICD 1

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • Prefer CPC or 5+ years in collection experience
  • Diagnosis coding ICD 10

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to communicate and work with all departments in a professional manner.
