About the Position

The OCP – Pharmacy Clerk is responsible for performing administrative tasks to support daily business operations.

Shift Schedule:

  • Mon - Fri: 5 Hours

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES.

  • Assisting with phone triage including answering telephone, forwarding calls, and taking messages
  • Operating cash registers
  • Restocking and organizing supplies and drug shelves
  • Cleaning, sterilizing, and organizing the work area and supplies
  • Maintaining and organized filing systems for prescriptions, pharmacy records, and forms
  •  

Core Skills:

  • Competent keyboard skills.
  • Providing customer service, both face to face and on the telephone
  • Possessing strong mathematical skills
  • Operating cash registers and other related machine
  • An ability to work individually and as part of a team.
  • Attention to detail.

TEAMWORK

  • Accept assignments based on workload, priorities, and the qualifications and competencies of self and of other staff members
  • Work closely with other staff, coworkers, peers, and other members of the healthcare team to ensure a positive and effective work environment
  • Report to appropriate personnel regarding assignments and projects.
  • Initiate problem-solving and conflict resolution skills to foster effective work relationships with peers
  • Report to work on time and as scheduled

PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT

  • Attend staff meetings, in-services, and continuing education
  • Respond to problems and opportunities to improve care and customer service
  • Support involvement in the Performance Improvement initiatives
  • Participate in and maintain competencies required for the position and specific unit or area(s) of assignment.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Demonstrated personal traits of a high level of motivation, team orientation, professionalism, and trustworthiness, and placing a high value on treating others with dignity and respect.
  • Excellent communication skills to include oral and written comprehension and expression.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • GED or high school equivalent
  • Demonstrated proficiency in the Microsoft office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) or similar products.
  • Bilingual preferred

PHYSICAL DEMAND:  

  • Operates all equipment necessary to perform the job.
  • Must be able to drive to various sites so therefore will be exposed to weather and road conditions.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Standing for long periods of time and lifting up to 50 pounds
  • Exposed to normal office environment.
  • Ability to work independent to attain company goals.

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS: English written and verbal skills. Bilingual Preferred
