About the Position

The Research Assistant supports the day-to-day functions of the Research Operations department by preparing, collecting, compiling, and documenting clinical research and data and regulatory documents. May Assist with direct patient care, laboratory, and maintenance of supplies duties. Ensure site research quality by practicing in compliance Texas Oncology.  

Shift Schedule:

  • Mon - Fri: 8am - 5pm

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Update open trials list, schedule monitor visits and study initiation visits and various other appointments for the clinical research team.
  • Will be updating various databases and navigating through different computer programs.
  • As directed by the research protocol or per the request of the provider, schedule clinic appointments, diagnostic tests and/or procedures.
  • Order protocol required supplies.
  • Coordinate patient clinic visits by preparing the research packet, central lab kits, consent documents, quality of life documents, and patient/drug diaries as applicable.
  • Will be prepping oversight meetings, complete audits, document in various systems as directed by the team.

Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs

ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:                                  

  • Participates in educational and training activities.
  • Attends continuing education offerings.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • High School Diploma
  • 2+ years of experience as an administrative assistant or in a health science role
  • MS office excel and outlook use is required, computer savvy.
  • Great Multi-tasker, excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required.

Work will require limited travel by air or automobile approximately 25% of time such as to other locations within the practice or investigators meetings.
