About the Position

The Controller is responsible for managing the accounting and financial reporting functions of the medical practice. The Controller also monitors the internal control environment and provides continuous risk assessment, oversees operational controls and implements best practices according to GAAP.

Requirements:

  • Defines responsibilities for all areas of accounting
  • Manages accounting and financial reporting functions for the practice
  •  Produce daily department reports with significant variances for Practice Administrator
  • Coordinates all financial audits
  •  Oversees all administrative and technical aspects of accounting, revenue integrity and materials  management. · Advise Executive Team of substantial financial variances from budget and prior year
  • Coordinate with other department directors on interdepartmental matters
  •  Oversee the preparation of various supporting schedules including, but not limited to audits, cost reports and tax returns
  •  Provides Executive Team with monthly analysis of financial reports and determines areas for improvement · Reviews monthly financial close
  •  Participates in practice management activities
  •  Performs other similar and related duties as deemed appropriate by Executive Team and/or Practice Administrator
  •  Initiates, coordinates and compiles annual budget for Executive review
  •  Reviews transactions and makes recommendations according to GAAP
  • Two Years Public Accounting Experience 

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE/REQUIREMENTS

  •  Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field required
  •  CPA license active in Texas, required
  •  Master’s Degree, preferred
  •  5 years or more experience in medical practice finance and accounting
  •  3 years or more recent experience in a supervisory capacity
  •  3 years or more experience in ERP, Great Plains preferred
  •  Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 products, including but not limited to Excel, Outlook,   Word,
  •  PowerPoint, SharePoint, OneDrive
  •  Preferred knowledge of Centricity.
